LoDo Lights is a public/private project commissioning contemporary light art installations in historic places
Current3 (cubed) by artist, Virginia Folkestad, is actually an art event. There are two types of lighting involved: color wash light and pattern projectors. "When somebody crosses the bridge, the lights will start to change color in acknowledgment of the bridge user; a visual indication of absence and presence," stated Virginia. "Those who experiment with the lights will become participants in the art work and in the present energetic spirit of Denver."
"It needed to be continuously, visually engaging. I didnʼt want it to ever
be empty, without light. And in actuality, when the bridge is alone, when no one is there, it takes on a life of itʼs own as if in anticipation, softly breathing and waiting for a passerby to add warmth to itʼs light.
